Milly The CatA site specially designed for my family and friends
May 03 May - What happened to April?!?!Hi all,
Well things have been VERY busy lately. Ava had day surgery last Monday to have a biopsy taken from her small intestine and stomach and the results came back in on Friday - she has chronic gastritis (which will heal in time) as a direct result of Coeliac Disease. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coeliac_disease Basically she will need a gluten free diet from now to keep her symptoms at bay. We've had an interesting week trying out our new diet - it's actually not to bad eating gluten free (in fact it's extremely healthy!) but last night Josh & I indulged in a meal at Henri's so we could eat regular bread! Oh it was glorious! I had a slow roasted duck and he had teh wagyu beef fillet steak. It was an outstanding meal. http://www.henris.com.au/welcome.html I made a gluten-free pizza this week and added the photo's to Facebook (for those of you also on there, please take a look). On Wednesday I drove out to the Hunter Valley Gardens with the girls for lunch with friends and a spot of shopping. (http://www.hvg.com.au/home.asp) I bought myself a fabulous coffee and that was it - I promise - I have attached a picture of it to this blog for you all. We went to Kotara on Friday after Ava's specialist appointment and of course I visited my Graceland - Pumpkin Patch - and bought Sophia a very cute little outfit, which I'm sure she didn't need, but who cares. Ava is doing well at Kindy, talking more and more every day (more videos of her singing 'I can see a rainbow' on Facebook) and Sophia is just beautiful as usual - She is a my good baby!
Anyway saw this great offer on Mom 4 Life website for a Tiny Tales Kit (http://blog.mom4life.com/) - such a great idea for documenting pregnancy/babies/toddlers moments for posterity. I'll have to get one for myself as I started writing books for both the girls and have slackened off considerably - being busy doesn;t help though!
Lots more photos of the girls to come - just check the album!

March 06 A few cute shotsMarch 03 Long Overdue UpdateWell, after I wrote the last blog Sophia must have decided that she was ready to come out as she was born on the 12th of February. Sorry for not updating the site till now, but you know how it goes - a newborn and a two year old are pretty time consuming! Since nearly everyone is on Facebook now I've been slack about posting things here but I will try to be vigilant and put more photos on here too. Sophia was born at 1:05pm and weighed 8.2 pounds, 53cms long and head circumference of 34.5cms. Now the stats are out of the way, she is just gorgeous! And an angel to boot. She is so lovely and sleeps a lot and lets her mummy sleep at night with very few interruptions. Ava absolutely adores her little sister and is forever showering her with hugs and kisses and showing her favourite photo album to her teaching her all the family names. Ava talks so much now, it amazes every day just how communicative she is. She is truely like a sponge soaking up every little piece of information she can get, learning new words and putting sentences together. It's just too cute.
Anyway, enough from me for the moment. I promise more photos to come.
Love Layla & the fam.
February 11 Well overdue...Well I'm now massively overdue. I'm 9 days past my due date, but they are planning to induce me on Wednesday. Knowing fate I will probably go into labour on Tuesday night. Not that I would mind that terribly. Ava is being a very good girl, very excited about meeting her new sister. I'll be sure to update the site when I get home from hospital with lots of photos.
Cheers,
Layla
January 30 Hello 2008!Well hello there 2008!
I'm 2 days away from my estimated due date for baby number 2 and feeling pretty good. Ava is doing well after a slight accident last Friday night, which saw us in the emergency room for a few hours requiring stitches to her leg, and the house is finally clean after a month of being pretty slack. Don't worry, I didn't put myself out - the cleaning lady returned from her long summer holiday. Not much happening here except waiting for the baby to finally grace us with her presence, she is still kicking like crazy, so no signs of settling down. I'm hoping I don't go over my due date as it's heating up around here in the Hunter Valley and the heat is no fun when you're pregnant. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow to 'evaluate' my progress, which means to say to see how big and annoyed I am. If I'm annoyed enough I'd agree to an induction, but I think I'll let nature run it's course for the moment. Sorry I haven't updated for nearly 2 months, I have no excuse as I'm always online as you know. I blame Facebook and My Space for my tardiness in blogging. Anyway, lots of photos to add so I'd better get a move on. Feel free to message me people! Or better yet - leave a comment so I know someone actually reads all this stuff!!
Love Layla & Co.
December 13 Update from the HunterHey all,
Yes I know - I'm very slack about updating the site. I'm flat out with My Space, Facebook, Emails and work (not to mention eating sleeping, looking after Ava and being massively pregnant!!) Here are some more photos of my enormous baby belly which will be 33 weeks on Saturday. I'm not even going to bother writing anymore on here about what we've been up to... you all know already from my emails and other sites.
Cheers to you all,
Layla
October 04 Ok, another month has gone by...Hi All,
Ok, so another month has gone by since my last blog. I'm busy busy busy lately with work, Ava, being pregnant and life in general. But I always say that. Really I'm just sitting on the couch doing nothing. Just kidding. We've had a lovely month, got a new digital camera - hence why we have some new photos (finally!) on the site. Ava is getting very chatty and expanding on her vocabulary every day. She said Zebra and showed me her toy Zebra the other night, very clever little monster. Josh is busy with work as well, but home on the weekends so we have had some lovely drives around the country side and trips to the park to play on the swings. Hoping to get out to Kotara shopping centre this weekend for some much needed retail therapy and also to look at baby stuff for the new baby. Pregnancy is going well, feeling very healthy and not so tired lately, but still trying to keep reasonable hours and not stay up too late. After all - I will get no sleep from February onwards. Christmas is still all organised for Terrigal - Everyday I look forward to it more and more. Still planning on a trip to Melbourne in late November, will keep you all posted.
Anyway.... time for me to have dinner, but I'll write again in another months time!! I promise to try for an earlier entry, but really- is anyone reading this stuff anyway ???
Love to you all,
Layla |
